If you really don't want to mar the pretty shells, you could poke holes in the top and bottom with a pin, blow out the contents. But you'd only be able to eat them scrambled or in baked goods.
Was Steve at the Farmers Market? Was there live music? (They stop doing shows in the winter, and I think it restarts around now.)
yeah, i thought about blowing out the insides--AFTER i already broke two shells. but the rest of the box, i think i'll do that. :) ... and then i'll have a carton full of pretty blown out eggshells. completely useless.
Steve was not at the farmer's market, but his stand was (yes, i actually looked for him and inquired). the guy who was there said that steve was at another farmer's market but would be back at the davis one soon.
and yes, there was live music! i love the davis farmer's market during summer evenings! i plan to go more often with wayne!
Cool! Let me us know if there is a noticeable difference in taste vs store bought. I hear there is a vendor that sells freerange eggs at Sacto's WX farmer's market on Sundays.
Oooh, they ARE pretty! Blue eggs! Wow!
