Engagement Photos!

While in New York, Wayne and I had a casual and somewhat impromptu engagement photo session in Brooklyn with Emily. Trying to look natural and "in love" as Emily directed, I felt exactly the opposite--completely awkward and UNnatural. I thought for sure these pictures would turn out funny, but Emily is absolutely MAGICAL because everything she touches becomes beautiful! And to some extent, even us! :)

These are some of our favorites!

And then we took some "model" pictures that are completely ridiculous (on purpose). I hope you get a good laugh out of them!

Waste Not, Want Not

When I was mailing out our invitations, I accidentally purchased the wrong stamps for our RSVP cards. In my excited frenzy, I stuck on 26-cent stamps, forgetting that by the time the RSVP cards would be mailed back, the postage increase would already be in effect. I was about to simply tack on a 1-cent stamp, but the new 27-cent stamps with tropical fruit on them were SOOO much cuter than the 26-cent cougar stamps! So Jenny and I painstakingly peeled off all the cougar stamps and replaced them with the tropical fruit. I now have 150 curly 26-cent stamps that I refuse to waste!

Yesterday was Jessie's birthday... and now I have 44 less curly stamps to worry about! The package actually only took 22 26-cent stamps to send, but I accidentally canceled the value of the first 22 because I put tape on to secure them "just in case". Lesson learned: do not put tape over your stamps!

Ceci and Wayne Eat New York

Just got back from a week in Boston and New York! Wayne left for a week-long East Coast trip right after school got out where he toured historical sites with other history teachers in his district (yay, for government grants!). He ended his trip in New York, so after making a quick stop in Boston to visit Angela, I met up with Wayne there, where we stayed with my aunt, uncle, and cousins, and hung out with Debbie and Emily! And since we hadn't seen each other in 3 weeks, it was really great to spend time with each other, too--and in New York, where we ate our way through the city!

Now it's time to get back to my regular eating patterns... afterall, I do have a wedding dress to make sure I still fit into!

What's the Scoop?

Who doesn't love ice cream? Especially on a hot July evening! With friends! At a barn! Wayne and I thought it would be fun—and perfectly fitting, since we both LOVE ice cream—to have an ice cream social hour instead of the usual cocktail hour between the ceremony and reception. Wayne has chosen a flavor, and I have as well, and we want to let YOU, our guests, decide on the last one!

Below are the flavors to choose from. Please vote on the poll at the right, and tell us which ice cream you crave the most!

Bride's Choice: Chocolate Fudge Brownie
Groom's Choice: Orange Cream
Guests' Choice: ???
Cookies 'n' Cream
Mint Chocolate Chip
Strawberry
Mocha Almond Fudge

So what's the scoop for you?
